Ok...after seeing quodscripsi talk about it, I finally caved and joined. It will be a useful site, but I have enough trouble keeping my dvdaf.com list current. :P Just starting to play with it, so be patient whilst I add my books.

I am feeling accomplished.
-Jeff helped me get our files off of the old hard-drive, and everything seems to be working quite well.
-Started the process of ripping cds again, and it's going much faster than last time.
-Was inspired by Erwina to start making LJ icons again, and I found a community that holds weekly contests to created movie and tv themed icons. Submitted my first entries this evening! I'll share them after the contest is over.

Off to go finish the last half hour of His Kind of Woman and maybe start On the Waterfront until D gets home from picking up hogs with the "other D".

so good with the new PC. Didn't have too many issues reinstalling software, finding drivers, etc. Looks like we will have to live with the built-in driver for the printer/fax at the moment because Brother does not yet have one for Vista. :p The only other major issue I had was when I reinstalled the software for my iPod...it flippin' erased EVERYTHING off of my iPod. Since our old harddrive didn't have enough memory, I wasn't able to save anything on it, so I have to rip my cds again. Luckily, I had only ripped about half of them, a mere 2400 songs. *sighs*

It appears that the new computer is on schedule!

Our new computer's arriving tomorrow, so tonight I have to:

-Disconnect the periphials (monitor, printer, etc) and make way for the new CPU
-Locate the discs for the software I have to load onto the new machine
-Generally clean the office, esp. where the old stuff has been sitting for a while

I have already made what I hope is a complete list of all software to be loaded from discs and dloaded from the internet for the machine. I have also sent an email to Jeff asking for his help to get the data from the old harddrive to the new one (and for a non-German version of FTP - no offense, Jas, but I am tired of clicking "Ja" instead of "Ok". :)).

I was looking on Wikipedia at some of the screenshots of Vista, and I amused by how much it looks like the Mac OS X GUI. It makes me happy, because I like that interface much more. As far as the other features, we'll just have to see. I am a little leery of having such a new OS, but that was the only option. I talked to a rep. from Dell and we couldn't even pay extra to get XP, so...hopefully all will go smoothly with Vista.

Ok...I'm a bit slow in figuring stuff out today.  Part of the reason I am sore is from playing tennis/bowling/baseball with Jeff last night on their new Wii.  Well...actually from Jeff stomping me in tennis, in particular. :)

Why, why, why are they doing a remake of Hairspray??? I just read this

owning all of Ewan's movies that are on dvd. Thanks to a little excursion to ebay, I have 3 movies I am bidding on (A Life Less Ordinary, Long Way Round, and Valiant). Also found I can buy Lipstick on Your Collar (VHS, of course), on half.com. That may have to be something for next month.

I have a friend that started using LibraryThing and I am thinking about joining. Of course, that would be one more thing like DVDAF to keep up with, too.
